AC repair & replacement questions, answered straight.
The things Tampa Bay homeowners actually ask us — cost, repair vs. replace, how fast we can get out, and what you can expect. No runaround.
How much does it cost to replace an AC system in Tampa?
A full system replacement in the Tampa Bay area generally runs about $9,700 to $16,000, depending on the size your home needs, the efficiency you choose, and how your system is set up. You can get an up-front, all-in ballpark for your own home in about 30 seconds with our price tool, and we confirm the exact number on site before any work starts.
Should I repair my AC or replace it?
It comes down to the age of the system, the cost of the repair, and how much life the unit has left. A licensed tech diagnoses it and tells you straight. We don't push a whole new system when a repair is the right call, and we don't keep patching a unit that's past the point of being worth it.
Is there a diagnostic fee, and do you waive it?
A licensed tech comes out and finds the actual problem. Your diagnostic is waived when we do the repair, so you're not paying twice to get it fixed.
Do you offer emergency or same-day AC repair?
Yes. We run same-day service and 24/7 emergency repair across our area. The fastest way to reach us is to call or text (813) 797-6577.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. I Know A Guy AC is a Florida state-certified HVAC contractor, license CAC1823073, and fully insured. The same team handles your job from the first call to the last screw.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Pinellas County and South Tampa, including St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Largo, Pinellas Park, Seminole, Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Tarpon Springs, Safety Harbor, and Oldsmar.
How long does a new AC installation take?
Most standard system changeouts are finished in a single day. If anything about your setup would take longer, we tell you that up front, before we start, not after.
Will you give me a real price without a five-contractor phone blitz?
Yes. You get a real, up-front ballpark in about 30 seconds, then one confirmation on site. No pressure, no pile of callbacks, no bait number that changes when the tech shows up.
